Daktronics Lights Up INTRUST Bank Arena with New LED Displays
Installation includes 25 displays totaling 4,300 square feet
As fans returned to INTRUST Bank Arena in Wichita, Kansas, they were informed and entertained by 25 new LED displays designed, manufactured and installed by Daktronics (NASDAQ-DAKT) of Brookings, South Dakota. The new centerhung display system is the focal point of the project that totals 4,300 square feet of LED technology.
“We’re excited to be taking our in-arena experience at INTRUST Bank Arena to a new level with not only the addition of a new centerhung videoboard, but also several other highly visible LED displays,” said Heath Adams, senior technology manager at INTRUST Bank Arena. “Creating a raving guest experience is one of our core values and we’re certain these significant upgrades will impress our guests for years to come.”
The new centerhung features four outward-curved main displays each measuring nearly 15 feet high by 16.5 feet wide. An upper ring measures more than 3 feet high by 85 feet in circumference and a lower ring measures more than 3 feet high by 72 feet in circumference. Four underbelly displays each measure 12.5 feet high by 16.5 feet wide and four corner wedge displays measure approximately 2.5 feet wide by 15 feet high.
All centerhung displays feature 5.9-millimeter line spacing to deliver higher resolution imagery and deliver crisp, clear imagers to fans throughout the arena. The main displays are capable of variable content zoning allowing each to show one large image or to be divided into multiple zones of live video, instant replays, up-to-the-minute statistics, graphics and animations, and sponsorship messages.
“On behalf of everyone at Daktronics, we are extremely excited to announce these enhancements to INTRUST Bank Arena,” said Ryan Kuzman, Daktronics sales representative. “We worked very closely with the arena staff to identify their needs and ensure that they have the most cutting-edge technology to continue to be one of the best venues in the country for live events.”
Additional LED displays include entrance displays, concourse wall, lobby display and scorer’s tables. Lining the side of the court in any configuration, the four LED scorer’s tables each measure 2 feet high by 9 feet wide and feature 6-millimeter line spacing. They supplement the centerhung system to provide additional statistics and graphics while allowing for the opportunity to highlight sponsors throughout events.
Welcoming fans as they enter the arena, two entrance displays measure 8 feet high by 15 feet wide and feature 3.9-millimeter line spacing and three exterior ribbon display are mounted about the entrances, each measuring 3.5 feet high by 42 feet long and featuring 10-millimeter pixel spacing. The large concourse display measures 30 feet high by 30 feet wide to promote upcoming events and highlight sponsors. It features 6-millimeter line spacing.
The lobby display feature employs 3.9-millimeter line spacing and measures approximately 10 feet high by 16.5 feet wide to catch the eye and share additional information to help engage audiences at every event.
