SMG Welcomes Brent Lackey as Director of Event Services at INTRUST Bank Arena

The SMG-managed INTRUST Bank Arena is excited to announce the hiring of Brent Lackey as Director of Event Services. Brent began in his new role on June 29.

Most recently, Lackey served as Senior Event Manager at the SMG-managed Knoxville Civic Auditorium and Coliseum in Knoxville, Tenn. While there, he lead the efforts that involved planning, coordinating and managing events, meetings and conferences for the Civic Auditorium and Coliseum. These duties included, supervising an event staff of 200 employees, coordinating and delivering annual training for all part-time staff, and was also the main point of contact for all Coliseum events as well as for the Knoxville Ice Bears, Knoxville’s professional ice hockey team.

In his role as Director of Event Services at INTRUST Bank Arena, Lackey will oversee the Arena’s Event Services department, in-house and t-shirt security, stagehands, sheriff’s officers and EMS personnel. Lackey will also develop and implement procedures to ensure all codes, laws, precautions, ordinances, policies and regulations are followed throughout the arena. Other responsibilities include conducting crowd management, safety, severe weather and other pertinent trainings for all staff.

Lackey earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from The University of Tennessee in Knoxville, Tenn.
