Field Trip Day game to be hosted for the first time at INTRUST Bank Arena
The Oklahoma City Blue, the NBA G League affiliate of the Thunder, will host a Field Trip Day game at INTRUST Bank Arena in Wichita on Feb. 28. The game will mark the first time for the Blue to play in Wichita.
The presentation for the Blue vs. Sioux Falls Skyforce game will feature STEAM facts and activities to encourage students to engage in science, technology, engineering, art and math education. Rumble the Bison, Thunder Girls, Thunder Drummers and Storm Chasers will add Thunder fun to the experience.
An annual tradition for the Blue in Oklahoma City, Field Trip Day allows school groups, families and other fans the opportunity to experience the excitement of NBA basketball in an educational environment. Last year’s Field Trip Day in Oklahoma City drew 17,695, a single-game record for the Blue and, at the time, a league record.
“We are excited to bring the Blue experience to fans in Wichita,” said Jim Brylewski, director of development team business operations for the Thunder. “This is an awesome opportunity not only to have a fun-filled day of Blue Basketball, but also to reinforce the importance of STEAM education – something the Blue and the Thunder are committed to doing throughout the year.”
The Blue Field Trip Day game in Wichita will tip off at 11 a.m. at INTRUST Bank Arena. Schools interested in group tickets can contact the Blue at (405) 208-HOOP (4667). Individual tickets are on sale now at the Select-A-Seat Box Office at INTRUST Bank Arena, by phone at 855-755-SEAT (7328) or online at selectaseat.com.
